Memory Café
Memory Café is a welcoming place for individuals with Alzheimer’s or other types of dementia or brain disorders. Additionally, it is helpful for those with all forms of mild cognitive impairment.
A safe and comfortable space, Memory Café provides an opportunity for caregivers and their loved ones to enjoy delicious food, socialize, listen to music, provide mutual support and exchange information.

Tessa Miksell, PT, DPT, is a lifelong resident of Grand Junction, CO, with a deep commitment to improving the health and well-being of her community. Inspired by her volunteer work at the Winter Sports Clinic for Disabled Veterans, Tessa pursued a career in physical therapy. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Colorado Mesa University and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora.
For the past 5 years, Tessa has dedicated her career to serving patients at Community Hospital, where she finds immense satisfaction in her work. Recognizing the critical need for fall prevention in Grand Junction, Tessa actively participates in Community-Based Fall Prevention Programs. She is a certified instructor for Stepping On, an evidence-based 8-week program designed to reduce fall risk.
This presentation will focus on the key pillars of fall prevention and strategies for maintaining independence.
